What to Expect…
During your photo session you can expect the environment to be fun and relaxed.
I love my job! I like to capture lifestyle and posed photos….and I always try to capture personalities.
I am usually booked 4-6 weeks out so it is a good idea to plan your session date in advance. Newborn sessions are best schedule while pregnant.
Newborn sessions are best done within the first 10 days of life and sessions usually last around 2-3 hours. We take as many breaks as needed for feeding, diaper changes, and loves from mommy and daddy. It is a good idea to wear layers as the studio will be a very warm 80+ degrees and also bring a change of clothing just in case baby has an accident while posing with you. But don’t worry! This is completely normal and poo’s and pee’s happen at EVERY session! No big deal! It is why I have many blankets and backdrops! Please bring diapers, wet wipes, and enough formula or pre-made bottles for 2-3 bottles if not breast feeding. It is best to bring baby to the studio in a diaper and zip or button up jammies for easy transitioning. Before the session we will go over colors, poses, etc, to customize your session. Also, please feel free to bring any hats, a favorite onesie, or a special blanket to the session!
Baby & Children Sessions
You can expect these sessions to be completely silly and goofy! You may leave your session wondering if I have all my marbles…but trust me…not only is it fun for me…but fun for the kids as well! The most important thing is to not stress out if you think your baby or child may not behaving exactly as you want. Melt downs happen, but that is OK! I am a mom and know all about melt downs! 😉 I wait them out and ask you to do so also and not worry about it. They will usually come around…I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve that I use to help them transition out of that mood. And I am more than happy to reschedule if baby is just having an off day. I recommend bringing up to 3 outfits so we have variety, special lovies, fun accessories, or fun props that have a special meaning to you.
Maternity sessions are best done around 7 months. Bring 2-3 outfits, 1-2 lacy or feminine bras, and any props you would like to include in the photos. Maternity sessions can be done in studio or on location and customized to what you want. I highly recommend getting maternity photos as the woman’s body goes through amazing changes while pregnant. While it may see like it is taking forever for baby to get here, it is best to enjoy your changing body because once baby arrives and gets older you may forget how your belly looked. It really is an amazing time!
Family sessions are fun and usually last for an hour. They are always on location and never in the studio, unless I am capturing a family with their newborn or small baby. It is a good idea to avoid clothing that is busy or all matching, all black, or all white. It is best to coordinate outfits to compliment each other. You can find fun examples under my What to Wear Guide under Categories for ideas on how to get the colors to compliment each other without having matching outfits. I always advise dressing in clothing that represents YOU! I have a friend that insists on matching outfits for every session. And she LOVES that look! I on the other hand tried that and did not like it. I would rather we all wore what we loved and be comfortable for our family photos.
Do what is right for you!
I want you to LOVE your photos not only now…but 5 years from now.
Senior Grad Sessions
Senior sessions are all about having FUN! These sessions last from 1-2 hours and we travel to 3-4 local locations. I recommend bringing 3-4 outfit changes so we can coordinate outfits with locations.
I like to capture portrait type photos for the year book and parents….and fun photos for the senior!
What Happens After the Session?
Two weeks after your session, you will receive an online password protected gallery to order from. The gallery is available to you for 5 days and then after this time it is $50 to have it reposted.
I will be going back to in person ordering sessions soon. Approximately 2 weeks after your session we will schedule a date for you to come into the studio and view your images and I will help you
create wall galleries, custom baby announcements, and answer any questions you may have. The in person ordering sessions help clients with actually getting their images on the wall…and not stuck on
a cd that is tossed in the drawer. If you would like an in person ordering session, please let me know!

I am not everyone’s photographer, but I am the photographer for you if you are looking for fun, fresh, clean images of your loved one and/or unique custom specialized newborn photos.
